Google has announced that it has released route guidance for bicycles in Japan in response to user requests. In the target area, “Bicycle tab” is displayed on the route search screen, and you can use the bicycle route by selecting the tab.
The bicycle route is set to preferentially display the course avoiding steep slopes and tunnels and the road with the bicycle lane while considering the road conditions.
On Google’s official blog, the route from Yutenjieki Station in Tokyo to the Meguro Kumin Center is available as a sample.
In the case of a car route, Yamate-dori is displayed as the recommended route, but in the case of a bicycle route, the recommended route is to avoid Yamate-dori, which has a lot of traffic, and pass through Komazawa-dori and Meguro River. ..
Even in the case of a bicycle route, voice guidance is supported, so it is possible to use route guidance without looking at the screen of the smartphone.
Also, with the recent update, Google Maps is available again on Apple Watch, and it seems that the convenience of Apple Watch has further improved with the release of the bicycle route.
