What’s New?
In addition to the two new Apple products, there are actually quite a few updates that come with iOS 14.3, including support for Apple ProRAW (which allows you to manipulate all the components of an image after you’ve taken it) and new Shortcut app behavior that lets you create a customized icon for an app without having to open the Shortcuts app itself.
Fitness+ and AirPods Pro Max
As speculated previously the golden master of iOS 14.3 brings with it compatibility for Apple’s just released AirPods Pro Max and the new on-demand workout subscription Fitness+. The former will start arriving on doorsteps next Tuesday and the later launches next Monday. Based on that timing, I’d expect iOS 14.3 to be released to the public sometime tomorrow or Friday.
The Home app now lets you update your HomeKit-enabled hardware without having to open the third-party app.
Ecosia, the eco-friendly search engine, is now an option in Safari
If you’re also beta testing watchOS 7.2, you’ll now see Cardio Fitness notifications that warn you when your cardio fitness drops low enough to adversely affect your VO2 max.
App Clips can now be launched by scanning a QR code with the camera.
Air quality health recommendations are now offered for some regions including the US, UK, Germany, India, and Mexico.
Third-party apps are now offered during setup in certain countries to comply with antitrust laws
