I had FaceTime and iMessage activation errors on Sprint using ST but I fixed it. Many will struggle with this but not I! The problem is the iMessage activation server is in the UK and my prepaid plan blocks international texts which iMessage silently sends in the background using UK country code +44. You must dig deep and change this to an alternate number that works for ATT Straight Talk and apparently Rogers it’s a +2 country code phone number.
Download iFile from Cydia. Go to root the slash / .
/system/library/carrierbundles/iPhone/ then edit the carrier.plist in both CarrierLab.bundle and Unknown.bundle look for Gateway in the plist and phone numbers that begin with +44 there is 1 in the first and about 10 in the second.
Change all +44…… to +28818773 . Dont’ touch anything else and don’t mess this up!
Save it. Shut off iMessage and FaceTime. REBOOT. Turn them both back on in settings. Voila 1 minute later they are active!

Regarding Battery Life and Stability of Jailbreak: It’s great I see no change compared to stock 5.1.1 if there is a change then it’s only 2% of battery life max. .
