In today’s video, I have some huge news to discuss regarding the status of the iPhone 12 Jailbreak, and lower, on iOS 14. Major progress has been achieved by two developers in the community. Sparkey, the security researcher who has developed Meridian Jailbreak, has achieved ROOT and Read / Write primitives on iOS 14.1 on iPhone 12. Jndok, another security researcher in the iOS community has also achieved a similar feat on the A14 chip.
This is a massive event considering that iPhone 12 has only been released for a few weeks. With a new chip (A14 in this case), there is always a possibility that Apple can introduce new mitigations to prevent jailbreak. This trend has been observed in the past years since the A12 chip which introduced PAC or Pointer Authentication Codes on iPhone XS / XR series. To see that ROOT has already been achieved on iPhone 12 and the new A14 chip is truly astonishing.
