Recharging Some Old Lithium Ion Cells From An Old Macbook Air Battery

In this video I am testing the capacity of a laptop battery cell that I had removed from a Macbook Air battery and I did this to show how dead laptop batteries do not have to be thrown away when they seem to have lost their charge. Laptop batteries are usually made up of multiple cells and when some of them die, this then causes the capacity of the battery to nose dive, which then make it not able to run the laptop for a very long time. The cells that are still functioning can be re-used, but they have to be removed and then tested to make sure that they can still hold a bit of charge.
Removing the cells from the battery can be a bit difficult, but it can be done if you have a pair of bird nosed pliers and something that you can use to cut the plastic. When you have finished testing the batteries, you should the throw away the ones that are dead, because they can sometimes swell and maybe even burst, if they they are not stored in a proper way.
