How To Factory Reset Your Mac With macOS Monterey – Delete Erase & Reset M1, M1 Pro, M1 Max

In this video I’m showing how to do a factory reset for a Mac. This is the new and latest method that was introduced with macOS Monterey. This works with all Apple Silicon Mac computers including any MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, Mac Mini & iMac that use M1, M1 Pro or M1 Max processors.

This process will erase and delete all data on your Mac and then reset it to a factory installation condition, ready for it to be re-used, sold on or given away. You’d also have to do this if you are thinking about trading in your Mac or returning it to Apple. This process will disassociate and remove your Apple ID from the Mac as well.

Before resetting your Mac make sure you’ve saved any important data or files to an external storage drive, the cloud or to a Time Machine backup.
