  1. Maintaining Apple's desktop displays at 218 PPI, it translates to about 6870 x 3860 for a 36" display. The 6870 can be rounded up to 7000 to get your "7K display". THAT IS A MASSIVE SCREEN

  2. One thing to note is that enterprise clients won’t adopt the Z1 platform immediately. There needs to be significant lag between announcement and release to account for budget and infrastructure planning. Hopefully Apple has been seeding the Z1 platform (I bet it’s more than 1 SOC) to these clients (Pixar, Lucasfilm, etc) to get them excited

  3. Saran do you think Apple will continue final assembly in the US for the Z1 Mac Pro? This could help out with the Quanta and Foxconn catastrophe ongoing in China.

  4. Apple clearly had a reason for doing what they would never normally do which is to mention an upcoming product at an event: The Mac Pro. But why? Perhaps so that we would not think the Mac Studio was the Mac Pro replacement. Perhaps because they won't be announcing it at WWDC but are keenly aware that they won't make the 2 year transition period for the Mac Pro but wanted us to know that it doesn't count because they have released all their Apple silicon chips anyhow within the 2 years. So now I am leaning to them not announcing it at WWDC.

  5. I'm kind of hoping that Apple would just kill the Pro Display XDR naming and simply rebrand it as "Studio Display Pro". Apple could then just offer it in two sizes, 27" and 32" and that would quite nicely offer a good range of displays for every budget.

My issue currently is that I want to buy Mac Studio since it's ideal for my needs – the upcoming Mac Pro is overkill for my use + way out of my budget. But it would totally piss me off me if Apple were to release a new set of displays with 120Hz and Mac Studio cannot support them.Β

So basically I have to wait until WWDC to see what might be happening with new displays. I would assume that Apple will indeed announce the new Mac Pro + a new display since it would be quite silly not to announce the new display as well. Especially since Pro Display XDR does need an update after all of these years.

  6. WWDC two Displays:
5K MiniLED at 27in with Promotion
7K MiniLED at 32in (maybe with Promotion)
Maybe later in 2023 something like the old cinema display 30in 5.5K/6K Hz maybe even like an imac Pro

  7. It will be launched definitely but shipping (maybe except for basic options) will be only later this year.

  8. No. It's too early for the new hardware to be ready. I'd say around September/October time. Regards
