The upcoming Android 12 will give people a brand new experience in terms of user interface and interaction.
Foreign media XDA-Developeres recently obtained an unreleased Android 12 build version, and noticed obvious changes on the volume panel and quick setting tiles.
In addition, the new version will also provide larger sliders and buttons, which may even make some people feel too big. “Cards & Passes” has also been added to the quick settings tile, which is also quite similar to iOS 14. It will introduce the smart home control function that pops up in Android 11 by pressing and holding the power menu. .
Android 12 hopes to allow users to map operations by calling Google Assistant. Other OEMs have already provided such functions.
Other behavioral changes include fixes to App Pair, a new version of Android split screen, and the search bar on the widget picker list. At the bottom, Android 12 will provide brand new privacy and security behaviors, such as a short “toast” notification when the application reads the clipboard.
Before that, according to the screenshots shared by the developer, the new version of Android 12 will tell which App has the permission to call the camera or microphone, so that the user can determine whether it is being monitored by a specific App. Similar to the experience on the iPhone, the system will light up an orange or green indicator light in the upper left corner of the screen when an app calls the microphone or camera.
If an orange dot is displayed in the upper left corner of the screen, it means that the app is using the microphone. If it shows a green dot, it means that the app is accessing the camera. Tap the notification to pop up an actual window, which details which application is calling the camera or microphone, so that the user can take further measures (such as removing related permissions).
