Recently, China Mobile Terminal Laboratory released the “2020 Second Phase of 5G Terminal Consumption Trend Report”, which gave some interesting data.
The report shows that the replacement cycle of mobile phone users in my country has been further lengthened, reaching an average of 25.3 months, which is 0.7 months longer than the last report in October last year, and a full month longer than the first report in 2019.
In terms of branding, Apple iPhone users are the most calm, with an average of 27.1 months for replacement, while Xiaomi users change the most frequently, with an average of only 22.8 months. In addition, Honor is 26.4 months, OPPO 26.3 months, and Huawei 25.6 months. , Vivo 25.5 months, Samsung 24.5 months.
The report believes that mobile phone hardware configuration, software experience, etc. continue to improve, and the overall performance of mobile phones is significantly better than before, which is the main reason for the extension of consumer replacement cycles.
In terms of price, there is also a very interesting phenomenon. The low-end and high-end replacement cycles are relatively long, basically above 26 months, while the mid-end and flagship are much shorter, especially the top flagship with more than 10,000 yuan, the shortest is only 21.0 month.
The reason is not difficult to explain: users in the low price segment below 3,000 yuan pay more attention to the price, and the replacement cycle is bound to be relatively longer; users in the high price segment above 8,000 yuan have a sufficient budget and like early adopters, and the replacement cycle is significantly shorter.
From the last mobile phone to this one, in terms of brand changes, that is, the so-called “replacement loyalty rate”, iPhone users are truly loyal, and 76.3% of them are still using iPhone.
The ratios of OPPO 55.6% and vivo 48.9% are not low, which may exceed many people’s expectations. Xiaomi’s 40.6% is quite satisfactory, while Huawei and Honor are only 35.7% and 21.7% respectively, ranking the bottom two.
As for the next mobile phone in the future, that is, the future repurchase rate, Huawei is the most attractive with 74.6%, of which 45% are from Huawei brand users, 20% are from Samsung, and 18% are from Honor.
The ratio of 72.7% of iPhone is not low, and most of them are old iPhone users.
In addition, Xiaomi 52.5%, OPPO 48.1%, and Honor only 23.9%.
So why do people change their phones?
Damaged mobile phones and slower cell phone freezes are all big heads, accounting for 25.6% and 25.1% respectively. In addition, 15.5% are fanatics who like to try new things and replace them regularly.
