As for the reasons for the cessation of cooperation between the two parties, GSMArena believes that it has a lot to do with the US sanctions on the supply of Huawei’s mobile phone chips. Leica’s next partner is likely to be produced in Honor, Sharp, and Xiaomi. At present, Sharp’s co-branded model has been exposed, namely Sharp AQUOS R6.
Therefore, Leica and mobile phone manufacturers are likely to sign non-exclusive contracts, using a model similar to Zeiss’s cooperation with camera and mobile phone manufacturers, rather than the previous exclusive. This means that by then, there is a high possibility that Leica’s logo will appear on a variety of models.
