Samsung’s new patent image exposure: flip folding phone with rotating camera

According to foreign media reports, Samsung has submitted a patent application to the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO) for a “foldable electronic device with a rotating camera on the hinge”, which describes a flip-flop similar to the Galaxy Z Flip mobile phone.

The patent image shows that Samsung puts the camera into the hinge, and can rotate the camera to take photos of different angles from the front, top and back, and can do everything from self-portrait to regular shooting in one go.

Due to changes in the camera position, Samsung can provide a larger secondary screen for this clamshell phone to display more content, which is not only used for notifications and incoming calls, but also for information reply.

However, this patented design has a disadvantage. Due to the change of the camera position, the phone cannot be placed flat on the table when the phone is unfolded, and the hinge position will be higher when it is folded.
