// Tesla, Inc. (wikipedia)
Tesla, Inc. (formerly Tesla Motors, Inc.) is an American automotive and energy company based in Palo Alto, California.[7] The company specializes in electric car manufacturing and, through its SolarCity subsidiary, solar panel manufacturing. It operates multiple production and assembly plants, notably Gigafactory 1[8] near Reno, Nevada, and its main vehicle manufacturing facility at Tesla Factory[9] in Fremont, California. As of March 2019, Tesla sells the Model S,[10] Model X,[11] and Model 3 automobiles.[12] It is accepting reservations for the Model Y,[13] Roadster (2020),[14] and Semi[15] vehicles. Tesla also sells Powerwall[16] and Powerpack[17] batteries, solar panels,[18] solar roof tiles,[19] and some related products.

Tesla was founded in July 2003, by engineers Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning, under the name Tesla Motors. The company’s name is a tribute to engineer Nikola Tesla. In early Series A funding, Tesla Motors was joined by Elon Musk, J. B. Straubel and Ian Wright, all of whom are retroactively allowed to call themselves co-founders of the company. Musk, who formerly served as chairman and is the current chief executive officer, said that he envisioned Tesla Motors as a technology company and independent automaker, aimed at eventually offering electric cars at prices affordable to the average consumer. Tesla Motors shortened its name to Tesla in February 2017.

After 10 years in the market, Tesla ranked as the world’s best selling plug-in passenger car manufacturer in 2018, both as a brand and by automotive group, with 245,240 units delivered and a market share of 12% of the plug-in segment sales.[20][21][22] Tesla vehicle sales in the U.S. increased by 280% from 48,000 in 2017 to 182,400 in 2018,[23] and globally were up by 138% from 2017.[24]

  1. Sorry about the muffled audio here! I accidentally hit a button on my recorder that switched it to mp3 so …compression 🙁 Hope you still liked it!

  2. Hi. There have been designed the most powerful ON EARTH mechanical (not hydraulic) press, of at least 100,000t, by the elderly inventor alone. But do you think they say "wow! I want that press at every cost!"? The cost is not "every", by the way. Don’t you feel the irony of the moment? We’ve left the stone age just now, for the age of the regular space flights! The 100,000 press machine is a hallmark of the new era…. But they do not seem to burst into tears in great excitement. They're too busy: the dreams about the future, you know. How ON EARTH they're going to build all these projects without developing heavy industries and promoting such great inventors and inventions!?
If you'd like to support the inventor and his powerful project, please contact me.

  3. Why do people call it a pickup truck? Ever render has showing it at the size of a unimog or deuce and a half.

  4. all for electric vehicles, and its still early, but right now hybrids are def cheaper to own. if you get a toyota hybrid for 22-25k depending on the model and get 52mpg combined, then you spend 600-700 a year in gas. you save 300-400 a year on fuel with a tesla but tires, insurance, plates, interest on the loan are all more expensive so its close to even. toyota hybrid also has brake rengen so thats a wash, and with the hybrid system 1/2 to 2/3 of the city miles go on the electric engine while highway miles use hybrid meaning very low revs from the ICE. with toyota drivetrain reliability you can expect 500,000 total miles before engine, transmission repairs, while parts like steering and suspension and tires are used by both manufacturers. had my prius c for 5 years. actually get 65 highway, 72 city (with nokian tyres). with 100,000 miles on it, (50k on the ICE) ive spent 800 a year in gas and maintenance including tires @ 20k miles/year. how long will it take to waste the 13k extra the teslas 3 costs? @ 12k miles/year estimating 30 years. could be 20 years if gas goes to $5/gal or you have solar panels generating your electricity. sure the teslas are more comparable to bmw or lexus and more affordable than those, but toyota hybrids are by far cheaper to own than a tesla!

  5. Stop fooling yourself, You can not produce the vehicles people have already ordered! do not think people will wait for what you can not produce. Do not mention that Semi, You keep talking about how fast it is 0 to 60 mph. let me see what it will do with an 80.000 lb load pulling that "Grape-Vine" Hill going into Los Angeles, where they have none of those "Super-Chargers" to refill those empty batteries, and a load delivered with out damage!

  6. Tesla supercharger price increases scares me. It's actually cheaper to fuel some ICE cars. That's ridiculous

  7. Tesla is going to be the greatest carmaker EVER. I know it. thats why i put all my savings in tesla stock. its a nobrainer. BURN SHORTIES!

  8. I have had no interest in any electric cars and have always said I would never buy one. Saying that I think Elon is very smart because by making a truck, that sounds really good by the way, is a way to get people like me that aren’t really into the electric thing to get on board. I most definitely would consider buying an electric truck if it was as capable as modern trucks are today. Be interesting to see the final specs on this truck that’s for sure…

  9. Because God forfend an investor actually do their own investment research after hearing anything on the headline news.

  10. Ben, what are your thoughts on Rivian's EV truck? Will it pose a threat to Tesla's market share when Tesla debuts its truck?

  11. OH! The CEO if the company says great things about his company, HOW SHOCKING. Heck – I'm convinced, you are right. Tezzzzla.

  12. Very surprised about his comment re Model Y. Certainly in the UK I can't see that being the case. The S and X are just massive for our roads/parking spaces. Y seems to be similar so I'd have thought 3 was likely to be by far the most popular model here.

  13. Great analysis. Nice work. The media does have a vendetta for some reason. Took them long enough to address the demand doubts.

  14. Tesla is great …the " big " co. are jealous .
News is useless as a screen door on a submarine , N.Korea type probably told the news to say that ….always have to look at the "bigger picture " don't listen to fake news
remember….believe nothing what you hear and half of what you see you will be fine to learn .

Glad there is people like Ben to tell the truth

  15. Do you think Elon will design the upcoming truck to also be a platform to use for commercial vans (similar to how the X is built off the 3 design)?

  16. i am from the UK i have cancelled my tesla 3 reservation as the cost in the UK is far to high with the luxury tax it comes in pounds to £45.000 thats US $ 57000 what happened to the UK $ 35000 model 3 shame Elon didn't make an affordable model 3 for the UK

  17. It may be capable of pulling 300,000 lbs but that will NOT be it's towing capacity. Towing Capacity takes braking into consideration… expect something better then an f150 but not 300,000 lol.

  18. Shocking news for everyone – $49,000 IS NOT AFFORDABLE for any vehicle. People are going into ridiculous debt for $65k trucks today, and it is just plain stupid.

  19. Funny though … if sales exceed production, and production was so good …. then why were deliveries so shit in April and May, worldwide? Makes me think … hmmm …

  20. Has anyone asked whether Tesla will have Vehicle to grid Capability as this will help the Duck Curve
I magine when there is excess electricity in the da to pump it in the parked cars and use them when the are home

  21. Please understand the difference between TOWING and PULLING. The truck will not be able to tow 300,000 pounds. That is illegal and physically impossible. It might be able to PULL 300,000 pounds but pulling is not towing.

  22. I'm curious about those M3 reservation holders who are still on the list. What are they waiting for? Are there some expected options or price changes coming soon? How many are still left, and how many have asked for a refund on their $1k deposit? Might be fodder for an interesting video…

  23. I think The Tesla Truck is gonna be sold to cheap I own three Tesla Model S I also own a F250 Platinum that i Paid $70,000 and this Tesla truck is suppose to be better. Tesla can actually sell this truck for alot more probably $20,000 more

  24. The 300k lbs towing spec is a little silly. This is obviously not going to be practical or even legal on public roads.

  25. the reason Tesla didn't use a pie chart is so the areas under each % wasn't a lie. Is that 25% area a quarter of the area? nope.

  26. Truck sounds like just for commercial use, I was hoping for a replacement for my Hemi Dodge which I may end up using till it dies for towing my travel trailer!

  27. Is anyone else bothered by this photo of the Tesla truck that always has another truck in its bed? Seems like such a stupid marketing approach… There is no way to get any idea of proportion. (If it was to scale, the truck would be massive and unpractical.)
