We know Robert loves his Tesla Model 3 (long range model), but what will he think of the new 2021 upgraded version?

The Tesla Model 3 SR (standard range) Plus has had an upgrade and is packed full of new features, both inside and out, from modified tires to new phone charging pods. We made sure Robert took it out on the road to see how it compares to his Model 3. What’s the verdict?

  2. That was brilliant. Thank you very much. So excited because my 2021 Tesla Model 3 Long Range arrived in Fremantle Harbour on the weekend.

  3. This guy doesn't know what he is talking about. "Ice. cars are more efficient in cold weather"…!!! Wtf.

  4. The thing about Model 3 is that the battery is bolted from both sides, you have to remove most of the cabin interior to be able to remove the battery. Hours and hours of work same shit with the Model Y. So far only S and X can remove battery from bottom bolts. And it will soon get worse the battery will be a integrated structural body part, last but not least ; Tesla will not let us use our battery for V2G. Next car for me will be a V2G car. Sorry Tesla will miss you. 😥

  5. I think the model 3 is the ideal car, I have just got one coming from 4.5 years of a BMW i3 another good car but unstable at 75 mph on the motorway for me the model 3 is rock solid at motorway speeds and beyond cough 😷

  6. Good to see that the horrible materials, shoddy build quality, uneven shut lines, ugly interior and leaking windows are still standard.

  7. I don't have a Tesla dealer near me, So i'm turning to the community to ask this question. I am 6.4 (193cm) tall. Will I fit comfortably in the drivers seat of a Model 3?

  8. The entire video you completely fail to give us a tour of the interior! Just you yabbering on! Useless! When I drive, i only see the inside it's all I care about.

  9. In many ways the model 3 is a great car with for me a few flaws that I couldn’t put up with. Firstly the single information screen. Rubbish. Anything that takes the gaze away from your eye line is poor. The head up display was for me unusable. Try a VW ID3 screen attached to the column for how it should be done. Secondly the noise. Those wide low profile tyres create such a racket on some uk surfaces that is really annoying. I see the from the press comments that the ‘21 model is no better. Thirdly the ride. Fragile and stiff were some press comments. I thought it was plain poor. Fourthly the cost. Well Robert has said it all re the cost today of battery cars. Many good innovations but overall “ Could do better”.

  10. Robert great review as always . In our little island a rear wheel drive car is fine in summer, but a pain in the backside in bad weather I.E. Snow. Im a bus driver and in bad weather Snow. I see BMW, Mercedes AND any other rear wheel drive stuck at the side of the road. We are talking high end cars . Useless in snow. To me go for the all wheel drive everytime . Less grief in winter .

  11. 2 years ago I would have never thought I’d say this, but I’m seriously thinking about getting me one of these. I’m currently on a company provided 2020 Audi A4 but I’ll be switching jobs soon and will be in need of a new car then. Gotta say, leasing one of these for 400€ a month sounds mighty tempting, indeed!

  12. Thank you for a fantastic show ! But for this episode – cold is -2C ? For the last month we have had -20 to -25 C in the mountains of Norway and I have seen many Teslas with ice on the rear windows! Why can't heat pumps help with that ! I do not have this issue in my BMW. But, I am going electric – cery soon 😉

  13. You still need a coal fired power station to charge it, about as green as an electric tooth brush. 🤑

  14. I've been a follower since 2010 and I've got to say that I'm a little disappointed that Bobby caved in to the negative remarks and stopped making videos about eating vegetarian / vegan food, or going 'flexitarian' like myself (where you reduce your meat intake). It's an area that does affect our carbon footprint on this planet, and I really enjoyed watching his videos about these foods. Plus, eating makes us fully charged, so relevant to the channel's title 🙂

  15. They need a Italian to design it! is it comfy? like my 1970 DS, BTW the average car mileage per day is 20 say Nimblefins

  16. 8:38 Part of the problem with that is that a combustion-engine has more power in the cold. Car reviews tend not to measure the rate of acceleration and it is the acceleration that uses the most energy. If you accelerate quicker due to more power, you use a lot more fuel in addition to that needed to push the car through denser air. The engine is giving off heat anyway and that is fine in the winter, but in the summer, people tend to run the air-conditioning to cool the interior of the car and that really hurts efficiency.
Also, in addition to colder, denser air containing more oxygen, that colder air has further to expand and so, when up to temperature, I wonder if an ICE engine isn't in point of fact actually more efficient in the winter for long trips when the viscosity of the oil etc is reduced. Cars have intercoolers after compressors to scrub the heat and increase the density of the air into the engine. This results in more power, which is separate from efficiency, but I don't know about you, but if I have more power, I bloody use it because it is addictive despite it being an unnecessary waste of energy.

Electric cars are purported as losing much more range when towing than their ICE counterparts, but the torque of an electric car allows it to accelerate at pretty much the same rate when towing where as the ICE car when towing would accelerate much slower and thus use much less fuel as a consequence of that slower acceleration.

  17. is there a way to donate one time only to the channel? I can only see memberships or "get a membership and then cancel"

  18. We just bought one before Christmas, it is like driving the future. an amazing car, sumed up as 'sky car from the future' by one of our friends, Loving the show.

  19. Hi there – is it possible to have a phone call with someone at Fully Charged please as I have an idea re collaboration that may be of interest? Thank you

  20. 100% EV cars are not the solution and are a WASTE of GLOBAL RESOURCES.

Lets go back in time: It is the 90s and a huge effort on the development of diesel is being pushed…and now being banned. If they had put all this effort on petrol engines…we will have incredible petrol engines nowadays as range extenders. Diesel has been a huge waste of Engineering and resources effort….Engineers knew back in the 90s that diesel was already a doomed and will have a short life due to the increasing EURO emission regulations over the years.

Then the Hybrid showed up and the Parallel hybrid architecture (like Prius) in the early 2000s..again…another waste of Global resources. Parallel hybrid is the worst possible architecture of hybrid, being the series one (Ampera…or range extended) the ideal solution that should have been pushed since the 90s…but…they didnt…WHY? because they still wanted to sell their BRAND engines (V6, V8, V12, Inline 5, Inline 6…. and so on). Again…another waste of resources.

Now the same people who already took those bad decissiones they are pushing on 100% EV cars …but…there is no infrastructure, rapid charging a 100KWH battery in 5 minutes its just MENTAL…as you need 1200amps or more to do that…and Guess what!!! LITHIUM BATTERIES ARE SHIT FOR TRANSPORT APPLICATIONS. They knew diesel was going to have a short life….and they already know since 20 years ago that LITHIUM batteries are NOT a long time solution. BUt…they are pushing to flooooood the whole world with Lithium….so we can scrap it all in 20 years.

We live in a stupidly managed world.

Do you want to save the planet, I will give you a few proposals:

-Not having ALL things from china/Asia…shipped overseas for months….most of them can be manufactured in your country.
-Not having all type of fruit all year around anywhere you go
-Not having all type of meat/fish all year around anywhere you go
-Not having all type of veggies all year around anywhere you go
-Not having a new phone so often….get them designed for durability
-Desing all for durability and for easy service
    -Not eating that much…we eat a lot…and shit a lot…more than needed…

BUT….no onelse wants to slow down the train….they will happily buy onto all type of demagogy…as long as this buys them peace of mind….and amazon.

  21. Such boring review. 🥱 No details, didn’t even mention new batteries, new USB you get from Tesla… classical press short glimpse flyover. Was expecting more from you guys.

  22. Tremendous. If they carry on improving at this rate they'll soon surpass my 20 yr old Rover for comfort, economy and range. If they'd just drop the ipad-glued-to-the-dash ergonomics I'd think about buying a 2nd hand one in 10 years time.

  23. Just one thing.. my ICE motorcycle goes further in the cold than in the heat as the air density is greater meaning more oxygen in the combustion chamber. Just sayin’

  24. Question could should Car manufacturing develop carbon catching systems from the air. If yes what uses could They use this carbon for. Could he use it in batteries, solar cells or making stainless steel for his rockets and cyber truck etc. What other use do you know or think They could use this carbon that is captured from air. Let me know. Could he find a really good use for this material. Also do you think he should build these carbon plants at his factories to of set his carbon footprint. He could start a trend that large manufacturers have to do this. I bet he could get government grants for this

  25. Guys, please do a review of the Mirai if you can. AND please underline that all hydrogen cars are in fact EVs. They are propelled by electric motors, but the energy storage is in a tank of hydrogen, a fule cell etc.

  26. I've only got two main comments: Smaller, batteries powering a lighter more efficient car – Good for running cost, except I would wonder if the batteries are actually working a bit harder, so will need replacing. How else are they going to guarantee more sales later on. Secondly, with today's computer and design technology and the amount of money they obviously spend on development, Why oh WHY can't they come up with an outer shell design that looks more exciting and futuristic. I'm not talking about doing away with chrome finishes, because I like that part of the style decision. I'm talking about the SHAPE. Frankly, it's dull, VERY dull. Come on guys, where's your imagination? Please, oh PLEASE don't start to encourage the dull, uninspiring non-descript eurobox that we had in the 90s, where every manufacturers efforts (?) Looked pretty much the same. We want inspiration for the future, not dull uninspiring uniformity.

  27. Thanks for great review! Can you please explain the charging speed in comparison to your older model? It seems it has rather low 54 kW/h charging speed!

  28. Robert can you please stop liking every EV out their? Every EV you go in you say all the positives but don’t every say anything about the negatives.

  29. Got in the car at -2C? Is the heatpump version not capable of being preheated (by app) or did you just not use it for some other reason?

  30. Why isn't that cameraman 2 metres away (2:33)? It just seemed to unnecessary for him to get so close. Otherwise, great video!
