SpaceX has always been a very exciting company in the space exploration industry, and it gets a lot more exciting with the Starship that is built to carry humans and cargo to Mars. The Starship will now be used for the lunar mission for NASA’s Artemis project, but things get a lot more exciting with a huge Starship Raptor upgrade. So let’s talk about that.

We have SpaceX today because Elon Musk wants to go to Mars and the Starship does precisely that for Elon Musk, and it’s still in progress. We are not sure about when SpaceX will go to Mars, but this is a very exciting time to be alive because humans might soon get to the Martian surface by the end of this decade. The Raptor engines are a family of methane liquid oxygen rocket engines developed by SpaceX since the late 2000s. When SpaceX first introduced Raptor way back in 2009, the term was exclusive to an upper stage engine concept. SpaceX then stated in October 2013 that they intended to build a family of methane-based Raptor rocket engines. In February 2014, SpaceX announced that the Raptor engine would be used for the mars colonial transporter that SpaceX will be using for the Mars mission. A single Raptor engine will definitely not do anything for a huge Spacecraft like the Starship, so the booster would utilize multiple Raptor engines. The initial component level testing for the Raptor engine began way back in May of 2014 with an injector element test.
