It means that the shortage of iPhone 13 is expected to be relieved in the next few months.
The report pointed out that because the new iPad shares some components with the iPhone, especially the processor and peripheral device chips, Apple can easily transfer some of the iPad chips to the iPhone.
According to people familiar with the matter, Apple has reduced the output of the iPad in the past two months, which is 50% less than the original official order. At the same time, it has also transferred some components used in the old iPhone to the iPhone 13 series production line.
Considering the upcoming peak sales season, Apple expects that the demand for iPhone 13 will continue to rise, but at the same time, the demand for iPad is not as good as that of iPhone 13, but shipments will still increase by 17.83% over the same period last year (according to “IDC” statistics), 2021 A total of 40.3 million units were shipped from January to September this year, making the chip production capacity that has been tightly supplied even more tight.
This is not the first time Apple has implemented the “iPhone priority” production strategy. After the iPhone 12 was launched last year (2020), due to the limited supply chain affected by the epidemic, Apple also gave priority to supply some iPad production components to the iPhone 12 series.
