It is reported that the price increase of the Galaxy S22 series is largely due to the increase in chip prices caused by the current global supply chain disruption.
It is reported that the price of touch and display driver integrated chips used in the Galaxy S22 series has risen by 40%, and power management and image sensing chips have risen by 15%.
However, there are also views that Samsung will maintain pricing as much as possible on the Galaxy S22 series, so as to gain share in price-sensitive emerging markets, since Samsung’s current sales have been threatened by Apple and domestic mobile phone brands.
The Galaxy S22 series is Samsung’s upcoming flagship series of mobile phones. This series of mobile phones will have two processor versions, Qualcomm 8 Gen 1 and Samsung Exynos 2200. The Exynos 2200 is a 4nm process chip developed by Samsung.
In addition, the Galaxy S22 series will have a 120Hz high refresh screen, and is equipped with a 108MP main camera, 45W flash charging, wireless charging, stereo speakers and other standard flagship mobile phones, and the ultra-large cup Ultra will also have a large 5000mAh battery.
Samsung is expected to announce three models of the Galaxy S22 series at the conference in early February, divided into Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus and Galaxy S22 Ultra, of which Galaxy S22 Ultra will replace the Galaxy Note series, equipped with S Pen stylus function.
