According to “Reuters”, Apple’s long-term co-founder Foxconn (Foxconn) will move part of the iPad and MacBook production lines from China for the first time, and establish a new supply chain in Vietnam. The production line will also be launched soon in 2021 and will produce some iPad and MacBook products.

This means that in the future, iPads and MacBooks will no longer be made in China, and there will be some signs made in Vietnam. Foreign media also stated that this was due to the US-China trade war that started two years ago, prompting Apple to accelerate the request of Foxconn to move out of China’s production lines in order to reduce labor costs and dependence on China.

“Reuters” reported and pointed out that although Foxconn did not make any official comments on moving out of China’s production line, it silently established a US$270 million FuKang Technology Co., Ltd. (FuKang) subsidiary to be responsible for the business related to the production line in Vietnam. At the same time, it also established a factory in Bac Giang province in northeastern Vietnam to be responsible for related production of Apple products.
