Auto Rotate Screen has been a feature of Android that many of us have simply disabled due to it not working properly. It either looks clunky, lags, or ignores you when the display is rotated.

The developers over at Google have put some effort into improving the feature lately and now the changes have been pushed to the public release. This new change comes with beta 3 of the Android 12 update and comes with a lot of changes.

Not only are the animations optimized, but the redrawing of the screen has been improved as well. The company has taken things a step further too by adding a gesture detection algorithm that uses machine learning as well.

To top things off, you can even enable a new “face detection” feature within the Settings application that will improve the accuracy of the auto screen rotate feature even more.

You’ll even gain the benefits of these new changes if you choose to not use the face detection feature.
