Samsung earlier announced on the official Korean forum that it will release a number of Galaxy S22 features, including many old flagships, and even the Galaxy S10 series launched 3 years ago.
The first item is “Night Portrait Shooting”, which enables the long focal length lens to activate portrait mode and support night shooting. It can also take beautiful portrait photos in low-light environments. The lower-level models include Galaxy S21, S20, Note 20 and Z Fold 2, 3.
The “auto framing” that can catch up with people during video recording and automatically change the shooting angle and focal length will mainly improve performance in the Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip series. In the future, it will be able to identify up to 10 people at a distance of up to 5m. In addition, it will also be available for Galaxy S21, S21 FE and other models, and will be able to support activation during video calls.
Samsung has also expanded support for video recording technology on the S22, which will allow a series of third-party apps such as Duo, Google Meet, Knox Meeting, Messenger (Meta), and Microsoft Teams to use Samsung’s unique camera functions, such as microphone control or background. The replacement function is expected to be enjoyed by flagship models after the Galaxy S10.
In addition, in the Galaxy S22 series, Samsung supports third-party apps such as Instagram, TikTok, and Snapchat to use the camera’s HDR technology, and will also apply to the Galaxy S21, S21 FE, Z Flip3, and Z Fold3 in the future.
South Korea’s Samsung will start pushing updates from the Galaxy S21 in May, and the Taiwan time will be officially announced later.
