If you value portability, including incredible battery life, then a Chrome OS laptop may well be your best new purchase. These things are generally slim, light and can keep going all day on a single charge. Chromebooks can also be impressively flexible with their touchscreen design, especially if they fold into a tablet device like the Asus Flip CM3.
As with Windows laptops, you have a choice from super-affordable to premium machines. However, Chrome OS notebooks tend to be cheaper and simpler to use than regular laptops. On the flip side, Chromebooks often offer a limited selection of ports. Plus all of your work lives online in the cloud, and you can’t enjoy as many services such as Steam (at least, not just yet).
