Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G | Fan Edition Unboxing vs Samsung S21

Unboxing Samsung’s Galaxy S21 FE 5G, the ‘Fan Edition’ of last year’s premium smartphone, plus a side-by-side comparison vs that S21 to see how the camera tech, performance, battery life etc have changed. My full review of the Galaxy S21 FE 5G is coming next week, and my long-term one year verdict on that Samsung flagship is live now.

Most of the specs and features remain the same on this Fan Edition phone, as does the UK price which is only about £50 cheaper. The triple lens camera once again involves a 12MP primary sensor and Ultra-Wide snapper, although you now have a proper telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. It’s only 8MP, but you get respectable detail levels when zooming in. The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE can’t record 8K video either, unlike the original.

Performance is almost identical, as both Sammy phones are powered by the Exynos 2100 here in the UK. My Fan Edition review model came with just 6GB RAM vs 8GB on the S21 however. Gaming works well, although Genshin Impact on top detail settings results in some jank.

The Galaxy S21 FE 5G boasts a bigger battery thankfully, as well as a slightly bigger 6.4-inch AMOLED screen. Besides that, you get the same OneUI 4.0 experience and very similar specs.
