Tesla Model Y | Ice Traction Test | VikingContact7 | Tesla Winter Performance | Drone

One of the videos in my Tesla Model Y winter performance series. Since installing Continental VikingContact7 winter tires on my Tesla Model Y, I’ve had a few questions about performance on ice. I took advantage of a nice day, a freshly plowed ice road, and my drone to help answer those questions. In this video, shot on a frozen lake, I show acceleration and stopping distances at several speeds on an ice road with light snow cover. No asphalt or dirt was harmed in the making of this video 😉

For drive mode, I used standard acceleration without off-road mode enabled. Regenerative braking was set to normal. These are the standard settings that I use for day-to-day road driving.
