In todays video I show you two of my old laptops running the new (early release) Chrome OS Flex from Google.
Google recently purchased Neverware for their CloudReady OS which was a copy of Chrome OS but using the Chromium browser.
Cloud Ready has been evolved into Chrome OS Flex by Google and is now available for download and testing.
The Chrome OS Flex website ( has a list of certified machines they say will run this new operating system with very few bugs. What I have done here is to install Chrome OS Flex onto two uncertified machines to try it out.
My Dell Latitude D630 is quite buggy at the moment but hopefully this will improve as it sends feedback to Google. The second old laptop here is a Sony Viao that is handling the OS a lot better, the only problems it seems to have is with WiFi, Bluetooth and trackpad issues.
If you have an old laptop at home doing nothing try Chrome OS Flex on it and you may find you have a useful Chromebook style laptop to use as a secondary machine.
Please be aware that Chrome OS Flex WILL COMPLETELY REMOVE any operating system already living on your laptop!! This new OS can be tried as a live USB drive without installing anything to the machine though.
