The REAL reason you don’t get a charger anymore.

Samsung and Apple no longer give you a charger with the Samsung galaxy S21 / S21 Ultra and Apple iPhone 12 / 12 Pro / 12 Pro Max – But is this ACTUALLY just to save the environment? To see what I got by buying the strangest phones on the internet:

  1. It's a rip-off, plain and simple. They claim they are doing this for the environment when in reality they earn more money by keeping the price the same, but giving you less for it.

If they cared for the environment, they wouldn't incentivize you to trash your smartphone every two years and buy a new one; they'd make them modular and thus upgradeable. But that's history; they want you to dump the old one (maybe give it to your grandma) and buy a new one.

None of those companies gives a shit about the environment. They are in it for the money, nothing else.

  2. Wait, you get a free case with your phone? I have the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, I bought it almost exactly a year ago and I didn't get a case. I have never received a case when I got a new phone. I live in the US, is this something you get when you are in a different country?

  3. Industry has basically proven that when it comes to profits versus environment, they are legally bound to create profits. The environment is a secondary concern.

  4. Apple and Co try to make this tiny plastic difference look like it's gonna save the world from burning down.
Let's be honest, they don't give a shit unless they have a profit as in this case to sell another thing that was free before.
Let's take a look then at packagings from Amazon or Wish. When you receive them it seems they needed 2 trees to pack some headphones.. To not speak about protection foils ecc.
It's frustrating to find then people believing this shit about environmental benefits.

Ah btw awesome video as always!! 🙂

  5. Which kind of charger is best for the lifespan of the phone's battery? After six years, my Samsung S8+ battery swelled enough to crack the back glass.

  6. I really hope Apple doesn’t get rid of the charging port until they can get wireless charging speeds the same as you’d get from plugging the phone in. I’m not someone who lets his phone charge over night all the time because my life schedule is wild. And even then, technically… most wireless charging platforms are bigger than the cords and bricks so…. would they really be using less plastic? Plus you’d probably have to buy it separately which would take even more plastic.

  7. Just for the record this "going green" from these companies is easily manageable by the governments, for example, here in Brazil the new Xiaomi and the new Samsung phones still come with the charger. Why? 'Cause there's something called, for lack of a better expression "combined sale", which basically means that when you sell your product without an essential item as is the charger, you obligate the consumer to buy a charger from your company if the consumer wishes to maintain quality of the bought product. So any company that sells phones without charger (including Apple that just doesn't seem to mind the fine the government gave them) is going to pay for it.

  8. They want YOU to pollute the environment for them while they paint themselves as eco saviors .

Assuming after they got tired of being accused of destroying environment for shenanigans like anti-right-to-repair .

  9. There sould be an option to get the brik amd headphones for some extra money so they didnt have to make so many boxes🧐🧐🧐

  10. Please help Apple and Samsung to be green: do not buy their chargers, buy instead better quality chargers from Anker, for example. This way, Apple and Samsung's conscience will remain intact 😉

  11. No charging brick, no ear buds (or output jack) BUT we're very happy to sell you all of the above with EXTRA packaging and EXTRA transport for EXTRA money. Bollocks! Not 'contradiction'. Companies want to APPEAR green. It's basically deceit, Don't believe a word they say
