Google traded Pixel 6a Camera for Tensor Chip?

One of the absolute best things about the Pixel A-series of smartphones was that it was a less expensive way to get the exact same amazing camera as you’d find on the flagship Pixel models. This is one of the main reasons that the Pixel A series has been so popular, starting back with the Pixel 3A. It was enough to make the A-series my recommendation whenever someone wanted an inexpensive Android device. You got very good hardware with an excellent camera.
But…that massive benefit is now over with the launch of the Google Pixel 6A. Unlike all of the A-series Pixels that came before it, the Pixel 6A doesn’t include the same camera hardware as the Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro. Instead of the bigger, 50-megapixel sensor serving as the main camera, the the Pixel 6A has the same 12-megapixel sensor that the Pixel 5 and 5A used. And the Pixel 4. And the Pixel 3. From 2018.
