We have seen, that the currently tested games do not yet benefit that much from more cores. That’s why the Ryzen 5 5600X is the best choice at the moment when you factor in price and performance. That may change with new games when they take advantage of more cores.
For those who own a current AMD Ryzen 3000 CPU, I would advise waiting and not jumping on the hype train right away. For example, with a Ryzen 7 3700X you can easily play most current games at maximum details in 1440p.
