This is a tutorial on how to jailbreak yout iPhone 4S and iPad 2 using Absinthe for Windows.

1. Download Absinthe here:
2. Download your correct firmware from iTunes or use one of these: (If you are going to restore your phone to factory settings if your having problems)
NOTE: There is 2 versions of 5.0.1 for the 4S (9A405) is the one youll use if you d) is the one youll use if you DID have a problem with your sim card reading. Check in Settings, General, About phone to check what you have.

3. Back up your phone or iPad on iCloud or even better through iTunes.
4. If your going to do a factory restore do so now. Use your firmware you downloaded if your using itunes just restore from your iPhone tab in iTunes. If your restoring from one of these you downloaded then go to your iPhone tab in itunes then hold the shift key then click restore. This will popup a window to locate the file you downloaded. Select your firmware and let restore. If your not going to restore then skip this step, step 5, & step 6. If you encounter problems when jailbreak like frozen at “Beginning jailbreak, this may take awhile” then youll need to restore. It should ONLY be on ‘Beginning jailbreak this may take awhile” for nor more then a minute or so.
5. Once it has restore go through the setting as normal. When you get to the options to setup as new device, restore from backup from iTunes, or restore backup from iCloud make sure you select “SET UP AS NEW DEVICE”. If you don’t your going to face the same freezing issues.
6. Wait for iPhone to activate before you start the jailbreak.
7. Extract abs in the from the .rar file to like the desktop or somewhere you will easily find it.
8. Run Absin the by Greenposi0n (If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7 make your you right click on the exe and click “RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR”. If you dont you will face errors or other problems. You do NOT need to put yur phone in DFU mode or turn off device. Its best to go into settings and make oit so the screen never turns off.
9.Once in Absinthe click the “Jailbreak” button and let it do its theng. It will then restart.
10. Once its done restarting go to the second page and click the “Absinthe” app to let it finish jailbreaking your device. It will then reset your device again instead of the “Absinthe” app you will now see the “Cydia” app. If you face a problem once your in the “Absinthe” app with it just sitting there doing nothing then close out of the app and retry. Usually the second time it will work. If still nothing keep trying until it finally reboots and it will show up with the “Cydia” app.
You have now successfully jailbrokin you iPhone 4S & or iPad 2 using Windows.
