A 3D rendered image of the “iPhone 13 mini”, which is expected to be released in the fall of 2021, has been released. It features a rear camera that is diagonally arranged and created based on the recently released CAD image.
Rendering with cameras placed diagonally
Slovak media svetapple.sk has produced and released a 3D rendered image of “iPhone 13 mini” based on the CAD image released by Indian media MySmartPrice.
The biggest feature is that the rear camera is arranged diagonally on the diagonal of the square frame.
Until now, the dual cameras of the iPhone series have been lined up side by side on the iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 8 Plus, and vertically on the iPhone X to iPhone 12, but this is the first time that the cameras have been placed diagonally.
Regarding the reason why the camera arrangement of the iPhone 13 mini is slanted, svetapple.sk, in addition to visually differentiating it from the iPhone 12 mini, has a sensor shift type image stabilization mechanism as reported by Taiwan media DigiTimes in January. I’m guessing that it is for mounting.
The sensor shift type image stabilization mechanism is installed only in the iPhone 12 Pro Max in the iPhone 12 series. At first glance, the same camera layout differs between the iPhone 12 Pro Max and iPhone 12 Pro, probably because of the size of the camera module.
Notch width is narrow
Leaker Duan Rui has published a sample image of a screen film for the iPhone 13 series with a narrower notch.
Well-known analyst Minchey Kuo predicted the miniaturization of the notch in the iPhone 13 series in early March, and the Mac treasure appraisal blog recently released a mockup (model) that is said to belong to the iPhone 13 Pro. Based on that, he said that the width of the notch was narrowing.
2021 will be the last “mini” model?
Minchey Kuo said in the latest forecast that the “mini” model will be the last to discontinue the 2021 iPhone 13 series.
