Leak information on Chinese SNS
Weibo user Uncle Pan posted, “I’ve heard that Apple is preparing to launch a third-generation Apple Pencil. Stay tuned,” along with the alleged “AirPods 3” photo.
The image of the Apple Pencil (3rd generation) was posted on Twitter by Leaker Mr. White (@laobaiTD) in early March.
The Apple Pencil in the photo he posted isn’t the matte, flat look of the Apple Pencil (2nd generation), but features the glossy finish and round shape of the original Apple Pencil.
Will it be announced at the event on April 20th?
If UnclePan’s information is correct, the Apple Pencil (3rd generation) could be announced at the same time as the new iPad Pro and Magic Keyboard at a special event on April 20, local time.
It is rumored that the new iPad Pro will be equipped with an A14X processor with processing performance similar to that of the M1, and that the 12.9-inch model will have a mini LED display with excellent contrast.
Currently selling both 1st and 2nd generation
The Apple Pencil (2nd generation) was launched at the same time as the 2018 iPad Pro. You can switch tools with a double tap, and the feature is that you can charge it by sticking it on the side of the iPad Pro with a magnet.
Apple also sells the original Apple Pencil for the iPad (8th generation) and iPad mini (5th generation).
