According to Apple leaker Jon Prosser, Apple’s upcoming MacBook Air will use a variety of colors, similar to the color of the newly released 24-inch iMac. In the latest video on his YouTube channel Front Page Tech, Prosser said that the same source that accurately provided him with information about the color of the first Apple silicon iMac told him that he had recently seen a prototype of a blue MacBook .
However, he said that his source has been “very obscure” and can only assume that this is the upcoming MacBookAir powered by the M2 chip.
If the news is true, the new color MacBook lineup will be a tribute to the old PowerBook G3. Apple first started offering bright color options for its iPad in the iPadAir released in October, and the iMac did the same last month.
Tianfeng Securities analyst Kuo once reported that the future low-end portable MacBook models will use mini LED displays; however, because the supply is currently very tight, this should not happen in the near future.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman said that Apple is developing a thinner and lighter MacBook Air, which may be launched in the second half of 2021. However, Bloomberg did not report that the new models will have different colors.
