Macworld explains why the body color is consistently “white” from EarPods used by connecting to 3.5mm earphone jack, EarPods compatible with Lightning terminal, and AirPods series of completely wireless earphones.
The reason is to differentiate it from other companies’ products.
According to Macworld, when Apple launches iPods, they’re used in pockets, which makes them harder to notice, so connect them to make it easier to tell that you’re using an Apple product. It is said that it started with making the EarPods used in the above white and differentiating it from other companies’ products.
According to the media, “Headphones were mostly black at that time, so I made them white. Many people remember the old iPod advertisements where the silhouette dances with white headphones.”
Will it be multicolored in the future like AirPods Max?
However, the latest product, AirPods Max, is available in five colors: black, silver, blue, green, and red.
There were rumors that AirPods would also have “black”, but that hasn’t happened yet.
