Bloomberg: Apple will use Face ID on Mac, all iPhones and iPads in recent years

IT House News on July 25 In this week’s Power On, Bloomberg’s Mark Gulman believes that Apple will introduce Face ID to Mac series computers within a few years.

Gurman pointed out that even iPhone SE and non-Pro iPad will use Face ID. The only reason Apple does not do so now is to ensure security while cutting costs as much as possible.

Gurman believes that Apple’s adoption of Face ID in all its major products is the “ultimate goal.” If possible, Apple had already cancelled Touch ID, but for some reasons Apple had to stick to it.

There is no doubt that on iPhone SE and non-Pro models of iPad, Touch ID is a cheaper biometric solution that can significantly reduce costs while still providing good security protection.

IT Home has learned that on Mac series laptops, the screen is too thin to load the necessary sensors.

And Gurman believes that the under-screen camera will help differentiate Apple’s more expensive devices by eliminating bangs. In addition, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted that the iPhone in 2022 will be redesigned, abandoning the bang design and adopting a perforated design instead.

Both Guo Mingchi and Gurman believe that none of these upgrades will appear in 2021, and users can only wait until 2022.

Gurman wrote: It will not happen this year, but I bet that Face ID on the Mac will appear in just a few years. I hope that all iPhones and iPads can be upgraded to Face ID within this period of time, and finally use the under-screen camera to raise the level of flagship products.

Earlier there was news that Apple is working to introduce Face ID into the macOS Big Sur beta. For example, foreign media 9To5Mac discovered that the new system has support for TrueDepth cameras, which shows that Apple is working hard to introduce Face ID for it.
