Samsung is said to equip its next flagship system-on-chip (SoC), the Exynos 2200, with a GPU with the mRDNA architecture developed in collaboration with AMD.

There was information that this GPU will be adopted for the Exynos 1200, which is also said to be newly released, but it seems that it will be equipped with an Arm GPU like the conventional Exynos series.

Equipped with Arm Mali-G68 as GPU

According to the results posted on Geekbench for the Exynos 1200, this SoC will be equipped with the Arm Mali-G68 as the GPU.

Like the Exynos 2200, this Exynos 1200 was said to be equipped with an AMD GPU, but in reality it was an Arm GPU like the conventional Exynos series.

The CPU performance on Geekbench is 759 for single core and 1,878 for multi-core, which is a score suitable for the middle range smartphone market targeted by this chip.

Isn’t it installed in Samsung smartphones?

Although the Exynos 1200 is a Samsung SoC, it is not expected to be installed in Samsung’s Galaxy series smartphones.

Exynos 1080, which is the previous generation of Exynos 1200, is also used only for Vivo smartphones, and it seems that Exynos 1200 will also be an SoC exclusively for external sales.

Samsung is said to make three variations of the Exynos 2200 with different specifications, which may cover its smartphone.

The official announcement date of the Exynos 1200 is unknown.
