Apple was considering launching a cloud gaming platform separate from Arcade

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that Apple has been discussing the launch of cloud gaming platforms in-house, such as those offered by Nvidia and Google.

Arcade relies only on games that run natively on the device

Apple already runs its own gaming platform, Apple Arcade, but has considered launching cloud gaming platforms like Nvidia’s GeForce Now and Google’s Stadia, Garman said in his newsletter, Power. I revealed it in “On”.

Apple does not allow other companies’ cloud gaming platforms to participate in Apple Arcade, not because it is a competitor, but simply because it does not allow all-you-can-eat cloud gaming services on the device.

“It’s unique that it relies on games that run natively on the device, not from the cloud,” Garman said of Apple Arcade.
