On January 19th, local time, Instagram began testing a subscription feature that allows creators to offer livestreaming and stories for a fee. This feature is currently only available to 10 selected creators in the United States, and creators can choose between $ 0.99 and $ 99.99 per month. ..

Instagram starts subscription test

The existence of subscriptions was first revealed in November last year when Instagram for iOS was updated with the addition of an in-app purchase statement called “Instagram Subscriptions” to the App Store description.

This feature is currently being tested by only a few creators in the United States, and followers can purchase exclusive content for a fee. In addition, a purple badge will appear next to the subscriber’s comments and messages to help identify them with other users.

Instagram says that until at least 2023, it will pay creators all the revenue they earn from their subscriptions with the goal of supporting their livelihoods.
