- First, open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Then go to "General" and then to "Keyboard".
- Now select the option "Add keyboard" under "Keyboard".
- Now tap on the entry "German" and put a checkmark next to "QWERTZ". Confirm your selection with a tap on "Done" in the upper right corner.
In any app where you can use the iOS keyboard, you now go to the bottom left on the globe icon and hold it short. Then select the option "German (Germany) QWERTZ". The umlauts disappear from the keyboard and the remaining letters get more space. In this way, you can easily enlarge the iPhone keyboard.
Tip: If that's not enough for you, you can make the iPhone keyboard with the "display zoom" even bigger.
For this trick, it does not matter if you use an iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 6 or older. Experience has shown that users of larger iPhones sometimes have trouble finding the right letter. Of course, users of smaller models – such as the iPhone SE – benefit even more. Incidentally, to improve the readability of texts on the iPhone, you can also change the iPhone font size.
