Regarding the Apple Watch in the fall of 2022, Mark Gurman reported in the newsletter “Power On” that the temperature measurement function passed the internal test.
Body temperature measurement will be added to the Apple Watch Series 8 and the extreme sports version of the tough new model, but not to the Apple Watch SE 2, Garman said.
Body temperature measurement is just a “standard”
However, unlike a dedicated thermometer, it cannot measure accurate body temperature, so if there is a suspicion of fever, it seems that it will only be used as a guide to remeasure with a thermometer or encourage a doctor to see a doctor.
Regarding the body temperature measurement function, Apple seems to think that the blood oxygen wellness sensor installed in Apple Watch Series 6 is positioned as a guide only.
On the other hand, the electrocardiogram (ECG) function has been approved by authorities such as the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare.
Will the display be brighter?
Gherman also said he expects the Apple Watch Series 8 to be brighter than its predecessor, saying it also has inside information that it will have an updated display.
Will S6 chips be used for 3 consecutive generations?
Gherman reiterated last week’s information that the Apple Watch Series 8 will have the same chips as the 2020 Apple Watch Series 6 and the 2021 Apple Watch Series 7.
