Loyalty Marketing and KDDI announced that they will install the smartphone payment service “au PAY” on Ponta’s smartphone app “Ponta Card (Official)”.
Payment is possible without launching the “au PAY” app
The function of “au PAY” has been added to Ponta’s official app “Ponta Card (Official)”. As a result, Ponta affiliated companies and au PAY member stores can seamlessly accumulate Ponta points for the presentation of the “Digital Ponta Card” and the payment for “au PAY (code payment)” when purchasing products.
Use of “au PAY” for the first time is completed with Ponta app
With this update, even those who have never used au PAY can complete the registration required to use au PAY within the “Ponta Card (Official)” app. Therefore, it can be said that we have created a flow line for people who usually use digital Ponta cards but have never used au PAY.
What is au PAY?
au PAY is a smartphone payment service provided by KDDI, which is familiar with au. au PAY includes payments using QR codes and barcodes called “code payments”, as well as credit cards called “au PAY prepaid cards” and “au PAY cards”. In both cases, “Ponta points” will be accumulated for each payment. The accumulated points can be charged and used for payment.
It can also be used by non-au users.
