Today, 21 days after the last release, Apple pushed the iOS / iPadOS 16 Developer Preview Beta 4 update to everyone, with the build number 20A5328h.
iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 are currently in beta testing with developers and public beta testers. As of now, iOS 16 Beta 4 is only available to registered developers. We expect Apple to release these versions to public beta testers sometime next week.
These updates will be released to the public with the official version of iOS 16 in September, when Apple will continue to release new beta versions. It’s worth noting that in early beta versions, changes and improvements are not necessarily linked.
iOS 16 Beta 4 brings many small but significant changes, such as updates to messages, custom home and lock screens, CarPlay, and more.
Let’s take a look at the updates and changes in iOS 16 Beta 4!
1. As we previously reported, iOS 16 adds a new limitation to the edit and unsend features in iMessage.
Users can edit or recall messages just sent, restore recently deleted messages, and mark conversations as unread for later.
Now, however, the time limit for users to unsend a message (retraction) has been reduced from 15 minutes to 2 minutes, and there is now a limit of 5 edits, and the content of each edit (historical edits) is visible to the recipient .
2. Now you can customize the time to cancel the email in the email (previously the default and only option was 20 seconds).
3. CarPlay adds multiple wallpaper options, which you can download by yourself.
4. iOS 16 beta 4 supports allowing developers to test the new Live activity feature, that is, adding real-time notifications to the lock screen.
5. A new graphical display, count and list notification displays appear in the Settings app.
Additionally, macOS Ventura Beta 4 has improved integration with Continuity Camera, bringing a new button to enable desktop view, and a new popup message explaining what desktop view is.
Apple has also provided a new desktop view tutorial to guide users on how to position the iPhone for best results.
6. When you adjust the playback volume in “Music”, the volume bar will now become larger and smaller with the change.
7. “Now Playing” in the lock screen interface adopts a newer and bolder graphic and font design.
8. In addition, on the lock screen of iOS 16 beta 4, there is a new “Add widget” text to clearly support the location of widgets.
9. iOS 16 Beta 4 adds a new health data view in the storage settings, which contains more detailed information than before.
10. Two new wallpaper options have been added to the Home app.
11.iOS 16 Beta 4 brings a new interface in the part of adjusting the home screen.
iOS 16/ iPadOS 16 Beta 4 upgrade method:
1. To prevent unexpected situations, before upgrading, please back up all data in the device in advance (Aisi Assistant full backup).
2. After the upgrade, you cannot downgrade back to the iOS version for which Apple’s official verification has been turned off.
3. Because the beta version may have some unstable situations or unknown problems, it is not recommended to use the main equipment to upgrade.
It can be upgraded by:
Method 1: You can install the iOS 16 test version description file on the device (follow the Aisi Assistant WeChat official account, reply to “description file” to get it, open and download the description file through the Safari browser and go to Settings – General – Description File Install the description file), restart the phone after installation, and then go to Settings – General – Check for Updates.
Method 2: It can be upgraded through the one-key flash function of Aisi Assistant: Open Aisi Assistant on the PC (need to update to the latest version), and connect the iOS device to the computer. On the “Smart Flash” – “One-click Flash” interface of Aisi Assistant, select iOS 16 beta 4, check the option “Preserve user data for flashing”, click “Flash now” and wait patiently for the flashing to complete.
