SoC shipments, MediaTek 1st, Qualcomm 2nd, Apple 3rd ~ China

 
The Industrial and Commercial Times reported the market share of System-on-Chip (SoC) in the Chinese market for the first half of 2022 (January to June) by manufacturer. In terms of market share by manufacturer, MediaTek ranks first, Qualcomm ranks second, and Apple ranks third.

MediaTek and Qualcomm, only Apple increased share

According to a survey by CINNO Research, in the first half of 2022 (January to June), the number of SoC shipments in the Chinese market was 134,000 units, down 16.9% year-on-year.
 
In terms of market share by manufacturer, MediaTek increased by about 7% year-on-year to about 42.1%, and Qualcomm increased by about 2% year-on-year to about 35.3%, taking second place.
 
Apple also increased slightly, taking third place.
 
Comparing the top five SoC shipments, other than the above three companies, such as Huawei, saw a decrease in market share compared to the same period last year.
 
MediaTek’s Dimensity chip seems to be appreciated for its low wholesale price and excellent power efficiency and low heat generation.
