“Radiko Premium (area-free listening)” is a service for 385 yen per month that allows you to listen to radio programs from all 99 commercial radio stations distributed by the radio distribution platform “radiko” anywhere in Japan.
Started in April 2014, the number of members reached 100,000 three months after the service started, and continued to grow steadily after that, exceeding 1 million in August 2022.

Various breakdowns of Radiko Premium members
The gender breakdown of 1 million Radiko Premium registered members is 56% male and 44% female.
By age group, 26% were in their 40s, followed by 25% in their 50s, and 18% in their 30s and 20s.
By residential area, Kanto accounted for 28%, Kinki for 17%, Chubu for 13%, and the three key districts accounted for about 60%.
The most popular listening genre is “talk,” followed by “variety,” “music,” and “information.”
