Apple is planning to introduce a new on-screen display function for the iPhone 14 Pro and restore the classic battery status display function, and the status bar of the iPhone 14 Pro will have a major change.
The screen cutout for the iPhone 14 Pro looks to have a unified “pill” at the top of the screen instead of two distinct cutouts. iOS 16’s lock screen feature will interact directly with the iPhone 14 Pro’s on-screen display, featuring depth effects and colors that blend with notifications and wallpapers.
The iPhone 14 Pro will support the same always-on display function as the Apple Watch. It is said that the wallpaper and clock can be customized in the display at any time. When the phone is locked, it does not display the entire wallpaper, but only the main part of it. .
The iPhone 14 Pro’s status bar is also said to be changing due to the increased space available at the top of the display, moving the cell signal display icon to the left and re-implementing a full-width battery status bar on the lock screen and notification center.
Apple is also said to be planning to release an update, such as iOS 16.0.1 or iOS 16.1, shortly after the iPhone 14 Pro’s launch, which will include fixes for the device’s always-on display and wallpaper issues. While Apple is now in the final stages of development of the feature, it is said to have encountered some bugs and is vying for software engineers from various teams, including the Apple Watch, to complete the on-display experience before launch.
The iPhone 14 Pro lineup is expected to be revealed at Apple’s “Far out” event on Wednesday, September 7, 2022. The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro will likely be available for pre-order on Friday, September 9th, with delivery to customers starting Friday, September 16th.
