After the production line switch, Ming-Chi Kuo predicted in a Medium article that the iPhone 14 Pro models will account for 60% to 65% of total iPhone 14 shipments in the second half of 2022. That’s an improvement from previous expectations, which were estimated at between 55% and 60%.

Among these models, the iPhone 14 Pro Max is expected to be the biggest mover, accounting for 30% to 35% of total iPhone 14 shipments during the period, making it the most popular model.

Ming-Chi Kuo’s claims appeared to be in line with other analysts’ expectations. Delivery times for the Pro models continued to lengthen on Sunday, with JPMorgan reporting generally high demand for the Pro models.

Kuo also believes that the iPhone’s product mix is ”improving” and that Apple will likely give a positive outlook for the fourth quarter on its earnings call in late October. However, this is based on the assumption that iPhone shipments “will not drop significantly after late November.”

These suppliers mainly include:

Sony (48MP CIS exclusive supplier);

Largan (the main supplier of telephoto lenses and the second supplier of ultra-wide-angle VCM);

LG Innotek (exclusive supplier of rear CCM);

Alps (exclusive supplier of telephoto VCM);

Minebea (the main supplier of ultra-wide-angle VCM);

Samsung Display (almost the exclusive supplier of Pro panels);

Industrial Fulian/Hongzhun (the main supplier of stainless steel metal middle frame);

Hon Hai (Pro series exclusive EMS).

As for the beneficiaries in the Pro model supply chain, Ming-Chi Kuo believes that camera component suppliers will benefit greatly. The list includes Sony, the sole supplier of the 48-megapixel sensor, lens supplier Largan, LG Innotek, ALPS and Minebea.

Samsung Display is also considered a beneficiary as it is the sole supplier of display panels, FII/Foxconn Technology is the main supplier of stainless steel frames, and Hon Hai is the “only EMS for the Pro models”.
