Apple’s iOS 16 launch auto-verification feature will be released in October

According to sources, iOS 16 has a new auto-verification feature that can automatically authenticate a user’s device and Apple ID account via iCloud in a private way, bypassing the CAPTCHA prompt. The feature is designed to eliminate the act of proving a user is a real person and not a robot by clicking on the image of a traffic light.

After the iOS 16 automatic verification function is enabled, when you log in to any website that requires ReCAPTCHA verification, as long as you pass Face ID, Touch ID verification, and the account and password are automatically introduced, the system will help you complete the ReCAPTCHA verification. You don’t need to enter any verification code or click on verification mode to log in.

The automatic verification feature is limited to websites and apps that support private access tokens, but since Cloudflare announced today that it will offer a free API called Turnstile to any website that wants to eliminate subtitles, even if the website is not a Cloudflate customer, this Feature adoption will also get a big boost.

At the bottom of iOS 16 Settings → Personal Apple ID → Password & Security Options, there is an additional automatic verification switch, which is turned on by default. As long as this switch is turned on, the above ReCAPTCHA verification can be completed directly through Face ID in the future. There is no need to do anything special.

Automatic verification is enabled by default on iPhones running iOS 16 and can be found under Set Apple ID Password and Security Automatic Verification. Apple says the feature is also supported in iPad OS 16.1 and macOS Ventura, which is still in beta and will be released in October.
