JPMorgan Chase analyst: Apple may produce more iPhone 12 Pro to meet strong demand, iPhone SE 3 will be launched next year

News from IT House, February 5 The investment bank JP Morgan Chase is revising its iPhone production plan for 2021 and also predicts that the production volume of Apple’s “iPhone 13” series will increase.

In a note to investors seen by foreign media AppleInsider, JP Morgan Chase supply chain analyst William Yang adjusted some of his forecasts for the current iPhone 12 series and the next-generation iPhone series expected to be launched in the second half of 2021.

For iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro, Yang maintained his production forecast for the first and second quarters of 2021: 56 million and 41 million units, respectively. However, Yang has revised the production ratio of iPhone models, adding a higher proportion of iPhone 12 Pro Max devices, and a larger number of iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 11 devices. The analyst increased the production of iPhone 12 Pro Max by 11 million units; increased the production of iPhone 12 Pro by 2 million units; and increased the production of iPhone 11 by 8 million units.

He also lowered the production volume of iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini by 9 million units and 11 million units respectively. Yang pointed out that given that demand for the iPhone 12 mini seems to be weak, the supply chain may stop production of the phone in the second quarter of 2021.

IT Home learned that the analyst also made some predictions for Apple’s upcoming 2021 iPhone series. He believes that Apple will launch four new devices in the second half of 2021. These four devices may all use smaller bangs, better battery life, and enhancements to the camera. The analyst predicts that the supply chain plans to produce 80 million to 90 million iPhone 13 series, higher than the 76 million scheduled for the iPhone 12 series in the second half of 2020.

Yang believes that there will be no new iPhone SE models in 2021. However, he believes that the supply chain is already working hard to launch the “iPhone SE 3” in the first half of 2022. The design of the machine may be similar to the previous generation, but the processor will be upgraded. He said that given the popularity of the iPhone 11, there may be another low-cost model based on this form factor.
