“Au Disaster Countermeasures”

On December 4th, KDDI and Okinawa Cellular opened an official au account “au Disaster Countermeasures” in “+ Message” so that they can read back information such as evacuation advisories during a disaster.

Recall emergency bulletins across the country

In 2019, major damage from typhoons occurred in various parts of Japan. In areas where evacuation advisories were issued due to river flooding, etc., an emergency bulletin e-mail arrived on the smartphone, but there were problems such as those who could not read it back and delayed evacuation.

With the official account “au Disaster Countermeasures” established by au in “+ Message”, it is now possible to read back emergency early warning mails distributed throughout the past three days.

“Au Disaster Countermeasures”

“Au Disaster Countermeasures” corresponds to the “Need to Escape Call” promoted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, and “Registration Area Disaster / Evacuation Information Mail” that can receive disaster / evacuation information for registered locations is also available. It can also be used to evacuate families who live far away.

“Au Disaster Countermeasures”

As of December 4, 2019, the service can use information from 1,754 organizations out of 1,788 municipalities nationwide that have been permitted to be included in the “Disaster Information” section of the au Disaster Message Board.

The iOS version of the “+ Message” app can be installed on iPhones and iPads with iOS 10.0 or later installed.
