Apple ‘Maps’ Street View feature now available in three U.S. cities

Apple’s genuine “Map”, a feature called “Look Around” close to Google Street View, is starting to be introduced in US cities. This time, we found that new features are available in Boston, Philadelphia, and Washington, DC.

Zoom function is smoother than Google Street View

“Look Around” in Apple “Maps” is a feature introduced in iOS13 that is similar to Google Street View, which allows you to explore the streets of the city in 3D. The feature is currently available in various locations in the United States, including the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, New York, Las Vegas, Houston, and Oahu, Hawaii.

When you go to a place where Look Around is available, a binoculars icon will appear in the upper right corner of the Apple Map screen. Tap the icon to view Street View. Look Around also appears in search results where features are available.

In Look Around mode, tap the screen to move around the area. MacRumors commented that Google Tap was more immersive than Google Street View when it came to tapping a distant point.

Bars, restaurants, parks, and more are displayed as icons to help you explore the Look Around. Note that the Look Around data is acquired by a 360-degree camera attached to the car, so the enlargement function is currently available only in areas accessible by car.
