Microsoft and Apple have been feuding over game streaming services for a couple of month’s now. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate streaming (aka xCloud) launched on Android only, and Microsoft very loudly called out Apple for not letting the game streaming service onto the iPhone and iPad. Then Amazon announced that their streaming service Luna was launching with an iOS version via the web. AND someone got Google Stadia working on iPhone. It’s been a wild ride y’all. Microsoft said they’re making an xCloud iOS web app! Who need the Xbox Series X? This is the Xbox news we didn’t know we needed.

Let’s test it out. We’ll test the latency in using Stadia on the iPad as well as Xbox Game Pass streaming on and Android device. We’ll also check out how clunky running a game streaming service as a web app is on an iPhone 12 or iPad Pro.

I used my iPad to try out Google Stadia cloud gaming and a Google Pixel 2 to try Google Stadia and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. If you have cloud gaming questions, please leave them in the comments below!

This one’s gonna be fun. iPhone game streaming is happening!
