Tim Cook has a BIG announcement, but it’s NOT a product. Today.
Yesterday it was announced that Apple CEO Tim Cook would be on “CBS This Morning” on Wednesday to make “big announcement” that they say is not a new product but “Its something I thing bigger and better than that”
First, what it isn’t – Suggestions that its an announcement about what happened at the Capitol. Interview with Gayle King was planned before this and tacked on the questions seen yesterday.
So of course the internet has started to speculate.
Is Apple Assisting in Covid 19 Vaccine distribution?
Are they funding the Vaccine in countries that need it?
Acquisition? Could Apple be buying something big – seems unlikely unless its based around MGM and their back catalogue.
Patently Apple suggested Tim Cook could be joining the Biden administration – Possible as an advisor but I don’t see him stepping down at Apple, and the tone of what’s been said so far by CBS doesn’t suggest it.
Privacy
Apple has produced Ads around how Apple pushes privacy during CES, so it could be related to these.
Explaining App Tracking Transparency?
Tim Cook could be coming out to explain to the public the reality between App Tracking Transparency and what Facebook was saying it would mean in their full page newspaper ads in the past month or so.
Sam at iUpdate suggested an Apple VPN – this is an interesting idea and fits perfectly with what I’ve seen
My guess – Apple’s own search engine that we’ve heard about:
No tracking
Deep integration
Perhaps includes VPN style tech .
