In today’s video, we’re discussing whether it would be possible in 2021 to have an untethered jailbreak like back in the days, that doesn’t require re-signing, doesn’t expire, and persists after reboot. We also discuss whether it would be possible to untether Unc0ver Jailbreak or Taurine Jailbreak in 2021 and what exactly would it take from the technical standpoint.
Untether jailbreaks used to be pretty common back in the days (Pangu, Taig, etc.) but aren’t anymore. An untethered jailbreak persists after a reboot and when the device has finished booting, you’re already jailbroken and your tweaks and themes already have loaded before you even got to the home screen. This kind of jailbreak did not require signing with 7 days certificates or AltStore.
